The greatest secondhand book market in Wallonia !

In March 2004 a non-profitmaking organization is born in the Ferme castrale ; its social object resides in the defense, the promotion, the diffusion and the illustration of the French language while valorizing all written documents and while offering their democratic access to people.

Au cœur du livre [In the heart of the book, name of this npo] installs in the monumental barn of the farm a secondhand book market that covers various themes: comic strips, biographies, dictionaries, war, cultural and tourist guides, cookery books, didactic material, works on the French language, technical books, poetry, novels, regionalism, love stories, thrillers, historic books, paperbacks, etc.
A real Ali Baba's cave - as said by the amazed visitors !

The market is open on
Saturday from 14 to 19:00 and Sunday from 11 to 19:00

February 6 & 7	Saturday 2-6 pm, Sunday 11 am-6 pm Trips and transport Crisis does not seem too affected field trips, but finally everybody can not afford holidays. Failing to go in other parts of the world, why not explore, in books, other countries, other peoples, other ways of life? Here are accounts of explorers, descriptions of travels, guidebooks, books about towns and villages, volumes of geography with superb photographs, assembled for your pleasure in the Ferme castrale… As for transport, whether by boat, train, plane or automobile, they also have a fascinating history to discover and study. Do not hesitate to "dive" into our secondhand books!
March 6 & 7	Saturday 2-7 pm, Sunday 11 am-7 pm Gardens, nature and animals To celebrate its 6th birthday, the npo "Au cœur du livre" collects books on a major theme of society! It was always interesting, but nature plays a more predominant in our current concerns. Kyoto, Copenhagen's evidence. We lost sight of what it really is: the center of our lives. To us to tame it more intelligently. Inform, train, learn, apply ... You just have time to read books before the arrival of spring! Then use your new knowledge at home, in your garden or during walks ... Happy reading!
April 3 & 4	Saturday 2-7 pm, Sunday 11 am-7 pm Gastronomy, sport and health Just for you !
May 1 & 2	Saturday 2-7 pm, Sunday 11 am-7 pm Thrillers and Science-fiction Spy novels, detective novels, whodunnits, thrillers, crime novels, books about anticipation and science fiction... The important thing, it is the shudder, the suspense. It is to bite in a book that you will joyfully devour. Make your choice this weekend! August 7 & 8	Saturday 2-7 pm, Sunday 11 am-7 pm comic strips and books for children It is the time of the summer holidays when the time goes really slowly for those that remain at home... Reading comic strips and others books for young people can help you to solve the problem.
September 4 & 5	Saturday 2-7 pm, Sunday 11 am-7 pm History and war The centuries come and go away and with them, the history of a so aggressive humanity... How, why, for whom ? Find your answers in the lot of biographies, historical novels, studies or highly specialized monographs, books and magazines about the navy, the air force, the weapons or the uniforms... collected this weekend in the barn of the Ferme castrale.
October 2 & 3	Saturday 2-7 pm, Sunday 11 am-7 pm Belgium and regionalism More than 175 years old but always ready to burst, Belgium is disparaged by the ones, object of tenderness for the others, ridiculed by some then praised to the skies by the selves. The book makes possible to explore its complexity. Belgian literature, regionalism, political aspect, books about monarchy, geography, tourism, culture... nothing of what is Belgian will escape you this weekend in the thousands secondhand books collected in the Ferme castrale.
November 6 & 7	Saturday 2-7 pm, Sunday 11 am-7 pm Esotericism, philosophy, religion Three words to define human activity dating back to antiquity and still valid, even if the meaning of terms has evolved. Three words for concepts that may become entangled or superposed. All three are taught, all three have their initiates, all three treat of the man and the world. And are different. Three words to deepen through the book. Rummage, excavate through our second-hand books. You'll be surprised at the amount of information available to you!
December 4 & 5	Saturday 2-6 pm, Sunday 11 am-6 pm Arts and beautiful books = Marvellous gifts Just before Christmas, the association "Au cœur du livre" offers, in the barn of the Ferme castrale, beautiful secondhand books (about literature, fine arts, architecture, etc.) that you can use as marvellous - and modest - Christmas or New Year gifts! You only have to present them in a beautiful personalized wrapping to fill your friends and parents with joy.
