 In March 2004 a
non-profitmaking organization is
born in the Ferme
castrale; its social object resides in the
defense, the promotion, the diffusion and the illustration of the
French language while valorizing all written documents and while
offering their democratic access to people.
Au cœur du livre[In
the heart of the book, name of this npo] installs on the ground floor
of the monumental barn of the farm, with the help of the association SI d'Hermalle-sous-Huy La Rawète, a secondhand book market that covers various themes:
comic strips, biographies, dictionaries, war, cultural and tourist
guides, cookery books, didactic material, works on the French language,
technical books, poetry, novels, regionalism, love stories, thrillers,
historic books, paperbacks, etc.
A real Ali Baba's cave - as said by the amazed visitors ! This magical place is completed on the 1st floor of the barn by the secondhand books and antiques of the association La Rawète. Late March 2011, Au coeur du livre goes out of business due to health problems of its active members, but
the marked for old books continues !
At the same place. With the same schedule Every Saturday 14-19:00 and Sunday 11-19:00 of the year[1] La Rawète
goes into effect, in early April 2011, to reoccupe the ground floor of
the barn and, thus disposing of space needed, to deploy its impressive
stock.
